Our company

New England CareFlow LLC is a research and prototype development company focused on practical solutions for healthcare and care delivery. We bring together nursing insight, research, and technology to address diverse needs — from clinical documentation and care coordination to patient education, communication, and workflow improvement. Our approach is adaptable across specialties, care settings, and patient populations, with solutions shaped around the people who use them.

Our pilot work began with Visual Nursing Notes, which aims to transform narrative nursing documentation into a structured, source-verifiable visual display. In our first study, we examined critical-care nurses’ perceived workload when reviewing written notes and a corresponding visual display. This work reflects our broader approach: understanding a care challenge, developing a tailored prototype, and evaluating its potential through research and user feedback. For the first time, the same clinical documentation could actually work for the nurse who writes it, the clinician who inherits the patient, and, in a future study, the patient reading their own records.
